Giuseppe Balducci
I am a literary critic and translator. I was educated at the University of Bari, where I earned a degree in Literature with a thesis on Mario Praz, a figure who has profoundly shaped my academic and intellectual development. My work spans both fiction and nonfiction, with a particular focus on European literature and its connections with art, theatre, and the cultural traditions of both antiquity and modernity. The books I have edited and my translations of authors such as Pierre Loti, Frederick Rolfe, and Norman Douglas have been reviewed and mentioned in several major publications, including Avvenire, Il Foglio, il manifesto, and Il Sole 24 Ore. My research has also developed within an academic context, through participation in conferences and seminars devoted to the tradition and transmission of ancient and modern texts. Over the years, my contributions have appeared in scholarly journals such as Divus Thomas, Illuminazioni, Studium, and Studi Francesi, as well as in cultural and general-interest publications including Il Giornale dell’Arte, Il Tascabile, La ricerca, and MicroMega. By combining philological rigor with a passion for intellectual exploration, I seek to foster a dialogue between past and present through the works and authors I continue to study and promote.
